Pictured are the steps of the Pyramid of the Magician depicting the figure heads of Chaac, the God of the Rain. “Many explorers like that of Waldek attributed to the figure heads the presence of Buddhist and Hindu religions during their construction, the inventiveness and searching of critics continued until the middle of the 20th century. We now can confirm that the heads correspond to the God of the Rain. In an area sensitive to the lack of water and deposits in Uxmal like Kabah, Labnah and Sayil among others, offered a special tribute to this God, the protector of men associated with water.” – Anthropologist Valdés Garcia. "Na´ (mother) or K-na´ (our mother) is to speak in the Yucatec Maya language, of our mother or the woman who birthed us, there are other words similar like: K-nay (in the maya zone of cruzo´ob in Quintana Roo which means: our home and they also say k-otoch). Náaytaj or Wayak´means to dream. This triad of maya concepts: K-na´, K-nay and Náaytaj, are points of reflection, to think on what it signifies to live in these lands, to receive the protection of our gods and to dream with her and her face that once we gazed at while nursing. In our daily words we can counsel others on what it signifies to live in the land of the Maya, but we should this thought with us that our mother is alive in us, because in each of our acts, we remember her and in our dreams we continue enjoying her gifts and are in her company, because to her we are all just her little ones." -Enrique Valdez, Hacienda Uxmal
