It's the Christmas season and everybody knows that means one thing. Horses.No, seriously though- the fact that it's snowing outside naturally inspires people to go out and be in the snow, play in the snow and go through the snow onskis, sleds, toboggans...Sleighs. ( a horse drawn sleigh is a carriage with snow tires, not literally, but it's the arctic version)I can't think of anything more gross than a carriage ride, SPECIFICALLY if it's meant to be romantic. Look, you wanna take a hay ride in the fall with friends? Great. You wanna go off roading in the summer with buddies? Cool. But do not go sleigh riding in the snow with a loved one. It's gross. It's too romantic for comfort and the blankets they have are icky. A horse drawn sleigh ride in Manhattan, through central park, is kind of okay, awkward, but okay. My issue...MY NIGHTMARE is with the west coast version of these. The horse drawn carriages that take people up and down Hollywood Blvd. Some things that are for cold weather are meant to stay in cold weather and shouldn't be done in hot weather like knit caps (hipsters), scarfs in 80 degree weather (hipters) and Uggs (assholes).First of all, we live in Los Angeles where it is super hot. I don't care how cold it gets here in the winter, it's not Central Park. Sorry LA, you can promote your downtown living as much as you want, it will never be NY...except fo the FOX lot, which is designed to look like NY. The following is a breakdown of the elements of sleigh riding that make it uncomfortable. 1) The hailing of the carriage.

You know that feeling you get when you try to hail a cab and it goes whizzing by? You feel oddly defeated. Now imagine watching that emotion on someone you might want to sleep with.One of the most awkward things on the planet is watching someone fail. And I am not interested in watching my date repeatedly try to flag down this gay carriage in the name of forced romance. His inability to get the carriage will translate to me as an inability to provide and I will, subconsciously, write him off as unmate-able and will seek alphamasculinity elsewhere. Gentlemen, unless you are prepared to run alongside that carriage, lion style, and flag it down, don't bother. Oh my god, what he trips while he's running?  I'd have to walk away. 2) The carriage
