if you follow me on twitter (shameless plug for you to follow me on twitter), you’ll know that i am currently obsessing over the gap. i don’t care what anyone says—despite your internal turmoil and bipolar behavior regarding whether you want to be trendy or classic, i will always stand by you, gap. anyway, i stopped by the location across the street from work and left with 2 pairs of jeans, a sweater and a bracelet for around $40. one of those pairs of jeans was a solid $5, which caused the cashier who rang me up to squeal with living-vicariously-through-me delight. also? the leather bag above? it may look eerily similar to chanel, but it is gap and costs a mere $128.
yes, those are studs on my socks. don’t eff with my ankles.
this morning, refinery29 posted a how-to guide for creating your own halloween-themed nail art. my favorite are these somewhat vulgar blood-covered nails. #musttry
for years, i have yearned for a pair of overalls that didn’t make me look like a bratwurst stuffed in too-tight casing (alas, the search is still on), so looking at these photos of terribly-chic women donning the piece has me unnaturally envious. because seriously, what is the percentage of people who actually look good in overalls? 2%? maybe 3?
today seemed like as good a day as any to match your lipstick to your flower…and that itchy patch of skin on your shoulder. am i right or am i right? (gpoyw.)
my friend tiffany of six six sick recently revealed the fall 2011 lookbook of her jewelry line, triskaidekaphobia, featuring fashion blogger lulu, author of popular fashion blog lulu & your mom. i love it when two talented e-savvy minds come together. what’s even better is how honed of an aesthetic the fall collection is; for example, the understated toughness of its bone necklaces and the wearability of those belt rings.
would you believe that miss piggy is a personal style icon? probably not, but instyle really broke the mold with its most recent editorial. the entertainment industry’s most famous pig has an 8-page spread spread in the november issue, which features such designers as jason wu, suno, prabal gurung and brian atwood. i can’t help but admit that it is pretty embarrassing that a cartoon character has a better wardrobe than i do.
