(October 14, 2011) - Night one of the U. S. Steel Dirt Track World Championship has been postponed until tomorrow. As rain soaked K-C Raceway off and on all day, the rains began again just before hot laps were set to begin and forced the postponement of the day's events. Tomorrow, there will be a full show for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. All Gates will open at Noon, with the drivers meeting slated for 3:30 and Hotlaps beginning at 4PM. For the LOLMDS, there will be Red Buck Cigars/DirtonDirt.com Time Trials, 6 heat races, B-Mains, and the 100-Lap $50,000 to win 31st Annual U. S. Steel Dirt Track World Championship Presented by Sunoco.

Carol Ruth Blankenship, age 70, of S.R. 220 W., Waverly, Ohio, died 5:11 P.M. Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born July 26, 1941 in Ironton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Willard and Monica Williams Rivers. On December 23, 1963 she was united in marriage to Steve Blankenship who survives. Also surviving are one son, Kevin Blankenship and wife Jackie of Beaver, Ohio, one daughter, Karen Montgomery and husband Tom, of Waverly, Ohio, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one brother, Charles Rivers of Alabama, two sisters, Monica Groves of Otway, Ohio, and Ann Blankenship of Piketon, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.

Linda K. Harris, age 63, of Maple Street, Waverly, Ohio, died 2:40 P.M. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at her residence. She was born December 20, 1947 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Harley E. Webb and Thelma Daulton Miller of Lucasville, Ohio. On April 22, 1978 she was united in marriage to William Charles Harris who preceded her in death March 26, 2010. She is survived by one son, Jeff Webb and wife Teresa of Chillicothe, Ohio, two daughters, Crystal Tackett and husband Ryan, and Alicia Harris, both of Waverly, Ohio, five grandchildren, Rylee and Morgan Webb, Billy and Trace Tackett, and Tyson Overman, three sisters, Kathy Cole of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Karen Stevens and husband Tommy of Lucasville, Ohio, and Debbie Rideout of Lakeworth, Florida, one half sister, Waynette Mingus of West Union, Ohio, and two half brothers, Greg Miller and wife Linda , and Kevin Miller and wife Karen, both of Lucasville, Ohio, and her faithful companion and pet, Sugar. Linda was a former employee of Pike Community Hospital in Waverly.

Shirley E. Jordan, age 64, of Nipgen Road, Waverly, Ohio, passed from this life on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Pike Community Hospital. She was born November 25, 1946 in Pike County, a daughter of the late Daniel and Retha Satterfield Taylor. She was married to Ray E. Jordan who preceded her in death September 23, 2010. She is survived by one daughter, Melissa Woods and husband Ronnie of Waverly, four grandchildren, Kasaundra Tolle, Christina, Ryan, and Tyler Woods who were the light of her life, five sisters, Wanda Davis of Piketon, Ohio, Angela (Gary) Wheeler of Beaver, Ohio, Brenda Taylor, Vergie Howard, and Barbara Taylor, all of Waverly, Ohio, two brothers, Daniel (Cheryl) Taylor, and Tim Taylor, both of Piketon, Ohio, brother in law, Wayne (Barb) Jordan of Waverly, sisters in law, Freida (Morris) Hopkins of Piketon, Ohio, and Pamela Dean of Circleville, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Connie Taylor, brother, Ronald Taylor, and sister in law, Ruthie J. Boyd.

Travis Miller, 19 years of Hillsboro, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Miami Valley Hospital at Dayton.

Leonard Elgin Mustard, 68 of Indian Ridge Drive, Piketon, Ohio, died Friday October 7, 2011 at his home.
