The first thing you may have seen was the memory interview weekly digest. It will email you one of our 630+ interview questions so you can easily answer and remember the good old days.I need some feedbackHey Everyone:I am looking for feedback here...I was in conversation recently and one of my users explained that things are just "too hard to find on memorycrawler".That is probably the number one complaint, but I really need to know what you are looking for most frequently and why my site is hard to navigate sometimes. I also will answer any questions from this email address about anything you want to know about. (Sorry for the lack of help pages on the site too)Here are the reasons why I think memorycrawler is a bit disorganized or confusing:I started the website for fun 3 years ago and it became my hobby to add little features to it hoping that something would catch on (which it nothing really has caught on yet..."not even my podcast" as tears stream down my face)3 Years of tinkering with it has caused many features to be created which are all kind of hard to organizeI realized about half way through that I needed to make it simple and easy to useI wrote the website primarily for myself to document my stories and I never get a whole lot of feedback from the few users (probably because they dont have an easy mechanism to give feedback)All this experimenting with different things and the lack of a true design of how to organize it would cause me to have to rewrite the whole thingOkay, I admit it, the site is a bit disorganized. But that shouldn’t stop you from posting your memories (Start with the memory interview questions). I will organize the data as time goes on and people use the site more and more. (I still get excited when lots of people post stories....)I just need some more feedback on your opinions of the web site. I will completely re-do the layout so you all can find things easier, I promise....Please reply back to this email with questions or comments on your experience on the website OR just say hello and rant to me about anything. Without that, I cannot improve the site! Thanks for all your time....Your Favorite Site Admin-TheMemoryCrawlerPaul Thompson - A Good Friend Gone (1956 - 2008)It brings me deep regret that a gentleman I worked with and sat right next to for two years died of a heart attack yesterday.  My close friend and colleague Paul Thompson was a prominent member of MemoryCrawler and I will miss him so much.  Feel free to read his 45 memories. He and I had so much fun together goofing off as well as having really great conversations.  I hope to be writing some memories honoring him this week.Life is so short, make sure you make each and every memory count and never live life on autopilot....His obituary notice is below....I know there are a lot of Chimes people signed up on MemoryCrawler..... so I am sorry if I am the bearer of bad news.01/31/1956 - 06/04/2008Obituary NoticeTHOMPSON, PAUL S. I am preparing for the biggest memory of my life... my upcoming wedding and move across country! More updates are coming soon. And as usual, your input and usage of the website inspires me to come up with more functionality and bug fixes. But lately, not many people have been posting (including me..)Please continue to utilize the memorycrawler application for all your stories and if you have not checked out the memory interviews. There are hundreds of questions waiting to be answered about your life. Soon I will be sending these questions to your email inbox once a month, for those of you who are subscribed to news notifications.Wish me luck on my upcoming nuptials.MC going web 2.0!Very Very Very exciting news everyone!  MemoryCrawler is now web 2.0 and quite savvy because I changed service providers to a new cluser server (which will never go down because of too many hits) and memorycrawler is now about 10 times faster than a shared host.  The number one complaint that people had was that it was too slow.  This is such a huge relief to find such a great service provider.  It will cost me a little more to host it, but you guys are worth it.I have made some updates to the memories home page.  Now there is a new section that will allow you to easily distribute recollection requests to your friends and family.  It will also allow you to quickly jump to a random interview section.  And the final section will show you the latest development work that has been going on.Other exciting news ... I have diligently added about 40 interview sections and over 1000 interview questions from all walks of life so I can easily inspire you all to remember the past and to document your life.  Check out the new interview section today!  A lot of hard work went into it. In fact, our newest member Julie posted 120 memories in one day by answering these interviews (A MemoryCrawler.com world record)! Thank you thank you thank you Julie! Finally, memorycrawler is now featured on the new my maps for google maps. We are on the third page out of all the applications where you can overlay various types of data within the world map. So for example, you could show weather patterns with memorycrawler memories in the same view! Thank you all so much for posting international memories, so that it attracts new users going to google maps to come to the site. Enjoy!Ghetto Tees ... LOLSup everyone? You all better watch out! MemoryCrawler has now gone professional and portable. You might see us randomly anywhere throughout metro Detroit and beyond wearing these T-Shirts with some microphones interviewing people for their memories! These Tees are ghetto because we are low budget here at memroycrawler and we buy Iron on Printouts! ;-)Heres the Tees:Additionally if you havent checked out your username@memorycrawler.com email account. Remember that your login is, yourusername@memorycrawler.com when you login at http://webmail.webhero.comFree MemoryCrawler EmailI havent sent out news to you all in a while.  A lot is going on with the site.New LayoutThere is a new CSS based layout that currently will load if you are using internet explorer.  Because internet explorer had some issues with the old layout, we have fixed all of those with this cleaner and more simple layoutFriends ONLY Memories:Now you can post a memory that is completely private to everyone INCLUDING google.  Instead of clicking Public, just click Friends Only.  Once you are in crawl memories.  The only place to access your friends memories is by going to the memories menu and clicking on "My Friends Private Memories".Memories Involving:I inserted about 100 records of types of memories that involve acertain topic.  These are very similar to the original 20 categories Isetup.  Eventually I will make an easier way for you to add newpublicly accessable categories/tags/memories involving.Portable Podcasts:Noel and I now have the ability to do portable podcasting!  As well as we figured out how to do 4 way calling on our cell phones.  So now all the brat patrol can talk and record a podcast at the same time!  Noel and I are planning on getting some memorycrawler Tees and going to various Malls and bars.  If you have any suggestions, please email us at podcasts@memorycrawler.comFREE MemoryCrawler.com Email!:In order to promote to my users that I really want you to share as many stories as you can.  I will be giving free memorycrawler.com emails out to the first 500 users who have posted at least one memory.Once you have posted a memory, I will manually create an email for youThis is a real email account that you can send out and use for junk offers or new signups on other sites that require an email addressI am hoping that this will promote more people to share more memories as well as when you use it, people will be curious about the domain and will come visit. Here are the people who have an email at memorycrawlerTo Login Please go to webmail.webhero.comType in your memorycrawler user and pass and you will be in!New Podcast PageFor any of those who havent checked out the podcast page. Short fragments that you can barely remember from 20 years agoRecent fun weekends of which you want to upload your newest digital photosPlain stupid and funny things that you did or sawThe best memories are the short kind. We really dont want 40 page dissertations on the summer you spent in upstate New York. This site is designed for the distracted person like myself who doesnt like spending a lot of time focused on one particular thing. These types of stories are the memories that are perfect for this site. Any others can be made private to your discretion. Many memories will just naturally stay dormant in the back of your mind and will normally be rejuvinated in conversation when a certain subject comes up or something happens that reminds you of the time that you did something. This is where MemoryCrawler comes into play. Now when you get home from your game night with all of your friends, you come log into MemoryCrawler and jot down what you remember.';content[3] = 'Working on the site again...After a long time not working on the site, I am back to maintaining it.The first thing you may have seen was the memory interview weekly digest.
