6 July 2011: Preparation work for a major stunt sequence in the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises, is underway at a secret location in the Highlands. The sequence features four large plane fuselages and is being produced by a Warner Brothers special effects team using explosives and pyrotechnics. The action involves parachutists who have been rehearsing the stunt at a private airfield in Feshiebridge in the Cairngorms. Access to the stunt site was obtained under legislation in the Land Reform Act (Scotland) 2003. While gaining access to the site, which is next to a public right-of-way that is rarely used, the photographer was held and restricted for over three hours by security guards and the site manager. This included incidents in which two 4x4 vehicles were used to block the right of way, to intimidate the photographer with threats of being crushed between the vehicles, and eventually to run the photographer off the road in to a ditch. At the request of the production crew, two police officers attended. They advised the site manager that he had no right to block the right of way and could not prevent photography.
