Mama’s Got Swag: ASHLEY BRIDGER DESIGNS

 I can’t believe my daughter is turning 3! For her birthday this year we decided that we wanted to create a playroom that would suit her now and also be something she can grow into. The problem? I had no clue what I wanted or how I wanted to design her room! Enter Ashley Bridger Designs!

 Ashley Bridger Designs is a company that makes whimsical, personalized hand built and hand painted furniture, wall art and other decor for children’s rooms. I contacted them about doing a painting for my daughters room and I was surprised by how easy and quick the process was. I was sent a detailed questionnaire to fill out to help give them an idea what I was looking for but as I already mentioned, I really had no clue. They quickly offered to come up with a design for me and suggested a variety of themes and quotes that would work well with a little girls playroom. They ensured that the colours would match the room by asking about paint colours, furniture colours etc…. and asked what type of child my daughter was. I easily handed over the design element to them and eagerly sat back and waited for my art work to come in!

The wait was certainly not long! Within 3 weeks (start to finish), I received my daughter’s personalized painting. I think I was more excited than Christmas morning! I loved that I had no idea what image I was getting and that they truly had put so much thought into making something that would look great in my daughter’s playroom. I was so excited when I saw the finished product! I received a beautiful 16X20 canvas wall art that would be the focal point on the new playroom walls! The colours match our paint exactly and the owls give it such a cute girl feel without seeming to childlike. My daughter loved it right away and was extra excited when we explained that it had her name written at the bottom! It is gorgeous and I can’t wait for people to come over and see it.

With Ashley Bridger Designs, the ideas and creations are limitless! They will make everything from toy boxes, wall art, step stools, memory boxes, block letters of your child’s name, shelving units, doll houses, cut out animals and much much more. You can choose to have buttons or ribbons sewn into your canvas art and/or personalize any item with your child’s name to make it extra special. You can come up with a design to match your crib bedding, wall colours, fabric etc.. and choose any theme or quote that you wish!  They say necessity is the mother of invention and that was certainly the case with Lisa May Designs. A mother found herself in need of certain baby items and after giving up on finding them, created them herself! Toddler bibs, baby bibs, coordinating burp cloths, blankets, nursing covers, and more!

It is getting cold outside now, there is no denying that. We all know it’s not safe to bundle your baby up in a bunting bag or snow suit under the carseat straps, so what’s a mom to do to keep their baby warm and dry? Lisa May has the solution – a carseat cover! Made out of two layers of either cotton or flannel (depending on whether you’re protecting your babe from the sun or the cold), these blankets snap around the bucket carseat handle and have weighted corners. They won’t fly off, won’t bunch up when you grab the bucket handle, won’t get in your baby’s face and won’t interfere with the safety of the carseat straps. Genius!

Not only are the carseat covers incredibly functional, but they are also very cute! Ours is a beautiful African animal print that is great for any baby. Mama’s Got Swag: SUNSET GOURMET

September is a great month, but with it comes the incredible hustle and bustle of work, school, dinner, homework, sports, and bed! So, while the weather may have you craving those warm, delicious fall and winter foods, your schedule may not allow for such extravagance. Rich loaves of bread, hearty soups, seasoned meats and vegetables, hot drinks, delectable dips, and scrumptious desserts actually CAN be on your menu plan though, really! Many of the products are even gluten free and preservative free!

Sunset Gourmet Sunset Gourmet Food Company – Home is a fantastic little Canadian company started by three friends with a flare for good food and entertainment. The products are sold through direct sales by our very own InkyMama, Angela! They make it so easy for you to make your own delicious, hearty food at home in no time. Sunset Gourmet’s product line includes everything you need for a fabulous meal at the drop of a dime or all the fixings for an impromptu party any day of the week. No stress, no slaving in the kitchen and the best part of all? The food you make is absolutely drool-worthy good!

We tested out enough products to get a feel for the whole line up and our bellies were full for days as a result. We started with the Multi-Grain Wheat Beer Bread and Creamy Cheddar Potato Soup. Are those two of my favourite things in the world? Why, yes they are. The bread is done in an hour. Add beer to mix, knead, put in oven, inhale the incredible smell of fresh bread baking in your house and open your window if you want to make your neighbours jealous. The soup was equally easy to make and is exactly what it says it is – creamy, cheesy and even has real potato chunks in it. Most soup mixes have an over-salted end result, but this does not at all. It tastes as good as if you had made it yourself. Dip in the beer bread and you are in fall food heaven. What better way to finish a meal than with rich, chocolatey fudge? Prepared in minutes, put it in the fridge to chill and then cut into this fudge that tastes just like you slaved over it. DEE-licious!

Next were the dips. I took these to a party and the prep work was next to nothing. Mix, serve. It took longer to chop up some fruit/vegetables and open a box of crackers to dip with! The Very Berry Fruit Dip can be made as a dip or a cheese ball, for those of you who love a throw back. Absolutely sensational with apples, pears and all of the other seasonal fruit. Creamy, fruity and not too sweet or sugary. A great compliment to both the sweetness or tartness of the fruit. It even came with a chocolate crumb topping that added you just can’t go wrong with. The Cheesy acon Cheddar dip had a zing to it that was irresistible and the Creamy Parmesan Artichoke dip was exactly like you’d want it to be. Perfect with potato chips, tortilla chips, crackers, pretzels, leftover beer bread, and vegetables. We were thorough in our testing.

Sunset Gourmet also has a great line of spices and seasonings, preserves and sauces that will make your most basic dinner taste like you spent all day in the kitchen. Add flavour to your meat, your vegetables or your casseroles in a shake! Mama’s Got Swag: SUNSET GOURMET

September is a great month, but with it comes the incredible hustle and bustle of work, school, dinner, homework, sports, and bed! So, while the weather may have you craving those warm, delicious fall and winter foods, your schedule may not allow for such extravagance. Rich loaves of bread, hearty soups, seasoned meats and vegetables, hot drinks, delectable dips, and scrumptious desserts actually CAN be on your menu plan though, really! Many of the products are even gluten free and preservative free!

Sunset Gourmet Sunset Gourmet Food Company – Home is a fantastic little Canadian company started by three friends with a flare for good food and entertainment. The products are sold through direct sales by our very own InkyMama, Angela! They make it so easy for you to make your own delicious, hearty food at home in no time. Sunset Gourmet’s product line includes everything you need for a fabulous meal at the drop of a dime or all the fixings for an impromptu party any day of the week. No stress, no slaving in the kitchen and the best part of all? The food you make is absolutely drool-worthy good!

We tested out enough products to get a feel for the whole line up and our bellies were full for days as a result. We started with the Multi-Grain Wheat Beer Bread and Creamy Cheddar Potato Soup. Are those two of my favourite things in the world? Why, yes they are. The bread is done in an hour. Add beer to mix, knead, put in oven, inhale the incredible smell of fresh bread baking in your house and open your window if you want to make your neighbours jealous. The soup was equally easy to make and is exactly what it says it is – creamy, cheesy and even has real potato chunks in it. Most soup mixes have an over-salted end result, but this does not at all. It tastes as good as if you had made it yourself. Dip in the beer bread and you are in fall food heaven. What better way to finish a meal than with rich, chocolatey fudge? Prepared in minutes, put it in the fridge to chill and then cut into this fudge that tastes just like you slaved over it. DEE-licious!

Next were the dips. I took these to a party and the prep work was next to nothing. Mix, serve. It took longer to chop up some fruit/vegetables and open a box of crackers to dip with! The Very Berry Fruit Dip can be made as a dip or a cheese ball, for those of you who love a throw back. Absolutely sensational with apples, pears and all of the other seasonal fruit. Creamy, fruity and not too sweet or sugary. A great compliment to both the sweetness or tartness of the fruit. It even came with a chocolate crumb topping that added you just can’t go wrong with. The Cheesy acon Cheddar dip had a zing to it that was irresistible and the Creamy Parmesan Artichoke dip was exactly like you’d want it to be. Perfect with potato chips, tortilla chips, crackers, pretzels, leftover beer bread, and vegetables. We were thorough in our testing.

Sunset Gourmet also has a great line of spices and seasonings, preserves and sauces that will make your most basic dinner taste like you spent all day in the kitchen. Add flavour to your meat, your vegetables or your casseroles in a shake!
