@amdbuilder loooooooong! Content was migrated last Dec, but I couldn't make up my mind about the design. Didn't want it to look like WP:)
Goodbye WordPress! DEVTRENCH is now powered by MODx Revolution! http://devtrench.com/
@mpool Have you tried slacker? I don't mind the ads and they have a cool mobile app and a software player: http://bit.ly/i9S3bg
@rthrash haha #expectbugs
#greenshot is the OS screen shot program I've been searching for :) http://getgreenshot.org/
I'm interested to know if people use the Messaging feature in #MODx and if so, what for? Just curious as I've never had a use for it.
i LOVE tracking git repositories with Redmine. Effortless, simple, great! #redmine
It's kind of starting to freak me out that products I searched for yesterday are showing up in ads on unrelated sites today. #BigBrother
@mpool dude, that sucks
@splittingred you should put a link to that post and notice of non-support on your contact form.
@adamsacres that reminds me, time for another cup :)
this comment on my blog made me laugh today http://bit.ly/b76KLu I guess there's at least 1 person out there who doesn't like #MODx
@jrotering yeah, that would be total download size
@brianrcline "flight of the conchords" radio or electronic hits on slacker. like a G6, like a G6 n-n-n-n-n-now I'm coding stuff like a G6
so what's the recommendation for "website page file size" these days? In 2000 it was no more than 60KB, now 1MB pages are everywhere
pleasantly surprised to see the RSS classes included with MODx Revo in /core/model/modx xmlrss. Thanks for including magpie :)
@novolodesign not sure about speed in Revo. But if you use includes for templates, you can use straight php in them. It's awesome.
@novolodesign In evo, using includes makes your cache small, and can make your site faster is what I've heard. Sounds backwards to me.
@tamersalama yes, but includes in any web application are a security concern. When programming them you need to do it with security in mind
I love that with MODx you can program chunks, snippets, etc. in files with includes. I do as much as I can outside of the manager now.
does anyone know if #MODx (evo) has a plugin for manager users that forces them to reset their password on first login?
@jrotering ha, yeah, I could waste all day listening to those.
@jrotering this one is better :) http://www.ted.com/talks/ken_robinson_says_schools_kill_creativity.html
slowly but surely still converting my blog from WordPress to MODx. Totally thought I'd be done by now :)
nothin' like paper planes
#HTMLFAIL: RT @davidwalshblog: Hahahaha! Apparently Subway has the DOCTYPE in the middle too! http://www.subway.com/subwayroot/index.aspx

I'm such a dork, I'm so excited for this: http://imdb.to/9OjMz7

Just Posted -- WordPress to MODx Migration Part 3: Templates, Categories, and Postmeta http://bit.ly/a8ytVo
@splittingred btw, the revo File Browser rocks! Finding that made my day :)
@amdbuilder hahahaha wish I could. I think all these evo sites I manage are going to be around for quite a while.
@splittingred lol, yeah there it is. duh, and I knew that too....apparently I need to stop switching back and forth between evo and revo :)
just realized there's no 'File Manager' in the #modx revo manager. Was this left as an exercise for the user?
I think MODx is a Gentleman's CMF. I'm always amazed at the courtesy given in blog and forum comments. Hope it stays that way.
@drumshaman that's the code I was looking for - thanks!
@splittingred cool thanks - the docs say to checkout dev btw, that's why i was confused: http://bit.ly/b8CleZ
@splittingred for MODx on git, what branch should we use to develop on now that dev is deleted? Should I checkout 2.1, or make a new branch
@lossendae I didn't like it at first, but I really like it now. I think anybody complaining needs to fork it and make it better. I plan to.
I'm about ready to add Dehli, India and outsource to my spam filter blacklist.
@ChuckTrukk still? I thought that 5 years ago (it was slooooow). I would have thought they'd have their act together by now.
new revo docs are looking really nice, great new format http://rtfm.modx.com/display/revolution20/Home
sweet, just saw that modx revo is on git now: http://github.com/modxcms/revolution
@mrhaw It's command line linux
I hate learning the hard way. Don't "grep ?> file". It deletes the file, or rather replaces it with the new empty file you just created :(
anyone use a good search engine lately, google is pissing me off
ah google, still so much spam, so little relevance...
RT @modxcms: The Revolution Starts Now: MODx Revolution 2.0 is out: http://j.mp/bQYnun
RT This is kinda cool @OpenSurge: Rackspace and NASA have teamed up to launch OpenStack ,an open source cloud platform http://bit.ly/c8Uq78
@splittingred looking forward to it
@netProphET does this answer your question? http://bit.ly/aQt0wX I don't think it's a derivative of xpdo, but it still has to be GPL
pearson sounds like an idiot, and matt keeps laughing in the background - its great http://bit.ly/agUFIG #thesiswp
I coded a thumbnail view for cpojer's mootools-filemanager. I plan to integrate it with MODx. Grab my fork here: http://bit.ly/9rWv7i
@mrhaw this is even better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXHUdvvHTkw
I just installed Revo RC2 and now RC3 is out! I got on the ball this time and just did an upgrade from RC2 to RC3 -- no problems :)
Just Posted -- WordPress to MODx Migration Part 2: Schema Relationships and Comments http://bit.ly/araGbI
finally had the time to install MODx Revo RC2 :) Will be starting another WP >> MODx conversion with it.
FWIW just because I'm on facebook, doesn't mean I that I'm ever actually on facebook, ever.
this site is great! http://www.27bslash6.com
I just saw DHTML listed as a skill on a job ad. Is it still called DHTML? I suddenly had flashbacks of crap floating around my cursor.
Wordpress 3.0 is out: http://wordpress.org/development/2010/06/thelonious/
@mpool ha, can we put a big fail squid on gosquids.com? "Digital Squids is too slammed with work right now, try again later."
if you're a business owner and the last time you touched your website was 2 years ago, you're not trying hard enough...or at all
@splittingred PackMan = great name :)
@mpool Ah, Helen Keller. That's my nickname for my girls when they act up at the dinner table: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EHwoRFe70jk
@splittingred sounds good to me :)
@splittingred so, IMO keep the templatepackager simple and build something more robust for advanced folks.
@splittingred what I want is a tool that can aid me in packaging anything. I've started to make one for evo that does that.
@splittingred why not just make an all purpose tool that packages everything? For example, some of my templates need snippets.
Installed Ruby on Rails, got Redmine working with it, and have Ruby running on Apache. 1st time doing this - pretty proud of myself :)
I wish I had the time to write down all these posts that I have locked away in my head. Starting to think cloning isn't so bad after all.
@mrhaw filtered for pron I assume
I can't believe I'm installing lotus notes on my computer. I'm sorry baby, I really am...
I hate email. Went through my backlog of 150+ emails and found all the little tasks I've missed over the past few weeks. Only took 3 hours.
RT @modxcms: MODx Revolution 2.0 RC2 out now. Read about it: http://bit.ly/ch1pRc Get it: http://bit.ly/LxfJI
why doesn't apple change it's screen shot file format to jpg? tiff, seriously?
just migrated an svn repo on a windows box to a git repo on linux. went super smooth thanks to the docs on progit.org :)
I'm starting to wonder why I don't just use linux as my main OS
I think twitterfeed has gone down the toilet - anyone else have problems with it? I think I'm just going to tweet my own posts from now on

MODxpo 2010
MODxpo is over but I'm still on my conference high. This was hands down the best conference/tech event I've ever been to.

Installed NetBeans last night and am pretty impressed so far. Would have done it sooner, but I didn't know it supports PHP and is FREE :)
