Hello judges!

I’m emailing you to let you know that a new version of the rulebook has been posted to www.yugioh-card.com. You will find it under the Gameplay section of your country’s official site.

The notable change in this version – which is version 8.0 – deals with Xyz Monsters and Materials.

You will find this information on Page 45, under “Xyz Materials”.

“Xyz Materials

Monsters that are used to Xyz Summon are called ‘Xyx Materials’, and are placed underneath the Xyz Monster, to show that they are attached to it. Monsters that have become Xyz Materials are not treated as cards on the field. When an Xyz Monster leaves the field, all of the Xyz Materials attached to it are sent to the Graveyard. If an Xyz Monster is flipped face-down, or becomes controlled by the opponent, the Xyz Materials are not sent to the Graveyard. They remain attached to the Xyz Monster.

Leaves The Field

Some monsters have effects that activate when they ‘leave the field’. For example, these effects activate when the monster is sent to the Graveyard, or is banished, or is returned to the hand or Extra Deck. When a monster on the field is shuffled into the Main Deck, or becomes an Xyz Material, it is no longer a card on the field, however its effects that activate when it ‘leaves the field’ will not activate.”

"Yuma & Shark: A Tag Duel of Scars" is the eleventh episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime. It first aired in Japan on June 19, 2011.

After his Duel with Shark, Yuma duels Tetsuo Takeda losing 20 times in a row, with Tetsuo angry because Yuma lied about not using the Numbers. Yuma is scolded by Astral on his immaturity. On the other hand, Shark returns to "his place" where he gets involved in criminal company. Yuma, who knew what was going on with Shark, challenges the two strongest thugs: Rikuo and Kaio, to what Shark proposes to be a 2 on 2 "Tag-Team Duel".

"The Combo of Hope! Armored Xyz Activate!" is the twelfth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime.

Yuma finds himself pinned down by the overwhelming power of "Number 61: Volcasaurus". To protect their precious remaining Life Points, he defends Shark at his own expense. When their opponents summon their second Number monster at that point, Astral becomes aware of the hidden mysteries underlying the Duel. In a last-ditch effort, Shark notices Yuma's passion and entrusts him with 1 card that could turn the whole Duel around!

The Hunter of Souls! The Number Hunter Appears! is the thirteenth episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.

After a series of incidents, Yuma and Astral learn of the existence of a "Number Hunter". Astral remains wary of an unseen presence, but Yuma pretends not to care. As a result, a series of strange phenomena appear around these two. Undeniably, these are the signs of the coming of the "Number Hunter" named Kaito Tenjo. At that moment, a dangerous duel with the Numbers cards on the line begins. With Kaito's power far beyond their reckoning, what can Astral or Yuma possibly do?

Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon Descends! is the fourteenth episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.

In just 1 Turn, Kaito Summons 2 Numbers. Yuma attempts to resist the onslaught, but all of his monsters have been removed from the field...! Kaito, capable of even more, summons the strongest Monster to exist: "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon", which has never been seen before! Yuma summons "Number 39: Utopia" to create a turnaround despite the impossible odds facing him.

The Brightest Star in Dueling!? The Card Collector Hoshino! is the fifthteenth episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.

After Yuma's Duel with Kaito is aborted due to Yuma's D-Pad failing, Yuma goes to a card shop to strengthen his Deck. He ends up getting Xyz Monsters. However, they're stolen by the self-crowned #1 Card Collector Hoshino. When Yuma chases him, he ends up finding a mountain of cards!

The Numbers are Unavailable! The Trump Card is an Xyz Monster!? is the sixthteenth episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.

Yuma decides to use the Numbers against Hoshino in their Duel. However, Hoshino activates the Spell Card "Book of Forbidden", declaring "Number", preventing Yuma from using them. And then, Hoshino summons "Number 12: Dix the Magician of Truth" which pushes Yuma to his limits, in what is the worst pinch he's ever been in! However, Astral sees the path to victory...!

The Mysterious Transfer Student is the seventeenth episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.

The Transfer Student "Magiri Horou" joins Yuma & co's class. Magiri doesn't seem to open up to his classmates, always talking to himself. Even though Astral suspects the Numbers are at play behind Magiri's behavior, Yuma ignores Astral as usual, and gets into a duel with Magiri.

The Invincible Undead Deck is the eightteenth episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.

Magiri is really in cahoots with Kaito, the guy after the Numbers cards! However, Yuma refuses to believe it, fighting Magiri at full strength under the impression he's actually being stringed along by Numbers! However, Magiri summons "Necromark the Dark Warlock", who begins sawing down Yuma's Life Points to the very edge of defeat! But Yuma still refuses to give up!

Kotori's First Duel! is the ninthteenth episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.

With interest from all the recent Duels, Kotori decides she's interested in trying to Duel. Thinking on how much of an absolute moron Yuma is, Kotori decides to Duel Yuma. Yuma is amazed at her skills, as she's a total newbie, but finds his Life Points sinking like a stone. However, the Duel begins to turn around due to a certain card.
