I already had a somewhat comfortable chore system set in place.  However, the kids quickly forgot their chores so I did some study work.  I did a search online and got an idea of what parents do with their kids as far as chores go.  In some of the Duggar videos I noticed that the kids just have one room they are responsible for.  Sounded so simple!  I decided to give it a whirl and use their new chorepack cards I had purchased.  However, I am not completely following their system (www.chorepacks.com) of making the cards. I didn't want to be changing out their cards all the time so I just listed everyone they have to do in one day on a card.  Then, I clip it to their clothes until they have finished it all.  That way, throughout the day they can just look at their card and see what needs to get done.

The girls can't read so theirs was done in pictures which is so cute!  Haha.  The are hung up on some pretty strong magnets for now on our garage door in our dining room till I can get something made for it.

So that was my huge Before Noon accomplishment.  We had to have a family meeting and figure all this stuff out.  The kids love the simplicity and so do I.

Today was a GREAT day with very little morning sickness and exhaustion.  I put tons of laundry away after our list was accomplished.  Because I'm afraid this is a one time thing, I'm gonna go do some more cleaning RIGHT NOW before I go to bed.  Yeehaw!

It's called pregnancy!  Ha.

Whoa, I just really have these knockout days where I don't get anything done.  This morning I woke up with morning sickness and a migraine.  Coffee is getting grosser to me now like it does with every pregnancy.  Probably a good thing anyway.  Thankfully my husband comes home 9am everyday so it helps in situations like these.  He just let me get better while he took care of the kids.  I'm sooooo grateful to him.  He told me no homeschooling today since it took till 3pm to feel better.

It breaks my heart to see the house fall apart from not having as much energy.  I think it's time to get rid of more stuff. Yep, that's how much stuff we have.  It builds up fast.  I just need to simplify and it's so much easier than it looks.  I talk myself back into everything yet I like the house to be simple. Can't have both.  However, I need some energy really, really bad.  You know though, life doesn't need all this worry.  I just need to take each day as it is, and do what I can with it.  Someday my energy will be back and I'll have a cleaner house.

My husband gives me grace

this I know

for his raised eyebrows and smile

tell me so....

Every time a big change happens in my life, my house always falls apart. Especially in pregnancy times.  I don't have the same energy, I'm grossed about by cleaning the kitchen, and I don't have as much tolerance having a ton of kids at my house.  Well, not talking about my own.  Haha.  I mean, since I don't have all that energy, just keeping up with my regular duties is a challenge.  Usually we have extra kids at our house from church or just neighbor kids.  But lately, I just need so much more down time than normal.  Since becoming pregnant, just keeping the house in a somewhat clean state is a major challenge.  I'm sure this will pass since the 2nd trimester always gives me my energy back.  Goodness gracious!  :)

Speaking of pregnancy and crazy ladies....

I hated public school growing up (after the 3rd grade).  I hated being put down by my teachers for saying I wanted to be a homemaker when I grew up.  I hated being bullied, picked on, and called a freak because I was a Christian.  I hated having things thrown at me in science class because I disagreed with my teacher about evolution.  I hated the fact that in 8th grade they messed up my records and accidentally made me repeat the 8th grade twice.  "Sorry" just doesn't cut it.  I hated boys making plans to rape me in the hallways. I hated that the football coach was in on it.  I hate that boys would grab at my butt when I would walk by.  I hated being called a prude and shouted at because I was a virgin.  Public schooling was not fun for me by any means.  Finally, when my life was being threatened just because I was a virgin, I quit and got my GED.  Do you know what I did after that?  I went to college with mature adults. Had the best time ever and really got to learn.  I loved just walking into a classroom without dodging the bullies or being afraid to raise my hand.  I It was so nice not having a teacher ask me if I'm stupid in front of the whole class.

On the other side of the coin, public schooling can be a safe haven for kids that have parents on drugs, alcohol, poverty, or just parents who can give a crud.  Going to school every day is their freedom.  A place they might feel safe and have hot food to eat. Thank goodness for that.

I do think there is more freedom in homeschooling for some as far as being able to expound on interests and beliefs.  In school I was the freak for being a Christian and was even looked at as disgusting because I was a virgin.  It was weird because the football team had a competition going called "Who can get Virginia in bed first."  The coach helped the football team surround me at one time and I was very scared.  The first boy that came up to me I kicked in the knards (cleanest word I could think of) and ran as fast as I could.  I even tried going to the principals office and they thought it was a joke.  Do I feel that it's safe for my daughter to attend school?  Well, I don't know.  I wasn't safe for me.  In fact, I hated high school so much I threw up every day before school.

Have you had good experiences?  Bad?  I KNOW that picture on the top does NOT apply to everyone but it really, really did for me.

So this is how I've always known whether I'm having a boy or girl.  When I was pregnant with my boys I would only have morning sickness in the morning and the rest of the day was great.  Once I hit the 2nd trimester I never dealt with it again.  With my girls I was sick all day long and it didn't get better till I delivered the baby at the end of 9 months.  So, we shall see how this one is.  So far I've been sick all day but off and on.  But since I'm just starting out I can't tell yet.  Who knows, maybe this one will break the chain and surprise us.  It's funny how it's different for everyone.  Boy=sick in the morning.  Girl=sick all day.

The weather is finally cooling down which means we can spend more days outdoors. We just renewed our zoo membership and we'll definitely be going there at least twice a month since the heat won't be so horrid.  It's just downright beautiful and we're really hoping it stays this way.  We pretty much let our backyard go in the summer because it's hard to keep anything alive. Once it gets cool like this we can plant a vegetable garden again.  Super excited about that!  I really, really miss our garden.  Another desire I've always had is to let the chickens roam free in our yard but because of my dogs we can't.  I hate that they only have one part of our yard.  It's just so cute to have kids playing around them.  They love to go on their own egg hunt every day, wash them, and put them in the fridge.  It's just super cool.

Finally I get to blog.  :)  Yay!  It's been a crazy week.  I easily have stuff to blog about every single day so when I get behind I feel like there is so much to catch up on.

While waiting to get an ultrasound my bladder was really starting to get full.  They weren't telling me what they were gonna do and because I've been through this so many times I knew not to go potty.  Well, I couldn't stand it so I went to the restroom and just tried to go what I though was halfway.  As soon as I got back to my room they asked for a urine sample. What?  I just went! Well, good thing I didn't completely go.  So I gave them a urine sample but still knew not to go completely.  I get back and they say, "Uh oh, we need to give you an ultrasound and you just went potty."  Uh yeah, I went a lot but believe it or not I still really had to go.  They really doubted it since I just went twice.  They did a bladder scan and said, "Oh, my you are full."  So off we went.  I wondered how much I could see in the ultrasound so I was really surprised. God makes miracles.  :)  She said the baby measures at 8 weeks instead of 7 weeks. That's very possible since I ovulated a week earlier than I was supposed to.

Courageous

We were at the mall and I said, "Hey babe, there is this Christian movie that just came out.  Do you want to see it with us?"  He said yes.  ;)  I was excited that the Duggars played a small part in the movie and that it was for fathers.  We laughed and cried through the whole movie.  We brought all six kids, ages 2-11, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Charles absolutely loved the movie.

If we were to go back to the start of television and films, I don't think we could imagine it would go this far.  It used to be that you couldn't even show a couple sleeping in the same room.  Then it moved to double beds.  Then a single bed.  Now sex right in front of the cameras and pushed into every person's home.  They push the envelope and see how far they can go.  If you put a frog in a pot of cold water they won't jump out.  Slowly turn up the heat and their body temperature will adjust.  You could keep turning it up ever so slightly and they won't even notice they are slowly being cooked alive.  That's what has happened to us.

Please, please, please take your husbands, brothers, dads out to see this movie.  It'll touch their heart.
